Rajesh Rice Mills

Out on Jawanda Road in the Sunam taluka, you’ll find Rajesh Rice Mills. We are located right by the Old Grain Market in Sangrur district. Being near the old market means there’s always something going on. The roads around here are narrow and can get jammed up with carts and trucks, especially during the harvest months. Our place isn't anything special to look at, just a lot of corrugated metal and big concrete floors. We’ve been operating here for a long time, so the routine is pretty much set. We wake up early, check the power, and get the belts moving. The Old Grain Market is where most of the action used to be, and we’ve stayed put while things changed around us. It’s a bit dusty, and the smell of raw paddy is always in the air. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy things for us. It’s just us and a few workers handling the bags. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to sit and wait, maybe have some chai from the stall down the road. Sunam is a decent place to work, even if the summers get incredibly hot. We keep the fans going, but they don't do much in the big shed. People come by to talk about the crop prices or just to see how the milling is going. It’s a straightforward way to make a living.
