Our place is right in the middle of Satta Bazar in Nawab Ganj. If you’ve been to the market, you know how crowded it gets with people and carts moving everywhere. We deal in steel, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting involved. We move pipes, sheets, and rods in and out of the shop all day. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in this part of town, especially when a truck comes to unload more stock. We have to be quick about it so we don't block the whole street for too long and get the neighbors upset. The shop has been here for a long time and the walls are a bit stained from the dust and the metal. We don't have any fancy displays. The steel is just stacked up according to size and type. It’s a dirty job and your clothes get ruined pretty fast from the rust and the grease. We talk to the other shop owners around here while we work. It’s a community. We don’t do any big marketing. People just come to Nawab Ganj when they need steel, and they find us. Some days are slow and we just sit by the front and watch the people go by, but other days we are busy from start to finish. We just try to keep the inventory right so we have what people are looking for when they walk in. It is simple work, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid.
