Bharat Rice Mills

Out here at No. 223/R near Chakerian Road in Akkanwali, we run Bharat Rice Mills. It’s a bit out of the way, which is common for rice mills. We need the space for the trucks and the storage of the grain. The air here usually smells like toasted grain and earth. We spend our days watching the machines and making sure the bags are filled correctly. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important work. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a team of people in suits. Most of the time, it’s just us in our work clothes, making sure the orders are ready on time. The road can be a bit rough in the rainy season, but the trucks always find their way to us. We’ve had the same neighbors for a long time, and we all help each other out when needed. It’s a quiet life in Akkanwali until the harvest season hits, then everything becomes a bit of a blur. We stay busy from dawn till dusk during those months. We don't make big promises about being the best; we just do the work we’ve always done. If you are looking for the mill, just head down Chakerian Road and look for the big sheds. We are usually there, rain or shine. It’s an honest business and we take it one day at a time, making sure the rice is good.
