Aujla Rice Mill

Aujla Rice Mill is located right along Malerkotla Road. If you drive past, you can usually see the stacks of bags piled up. It is not a quiet place, especially when we are in the middle of a busy season. The road outside stays busy with tractors and all sorts of vehicles going by. We have been working out of this spot for quite some time now. Most of the guys here live nearby, so it’s a short walk or bike ride to get in for the morning shift. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get a head start on the day's tasks. The yard is big enough for the trucks to turn around, though it gets cramped when everyone shows up at once. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing what needs to be done with the grain that comes through the gates. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend half the afternoon fixing a belt or cleaning out a hopper. That is just part of the job on Malerkotla Road. People stop by to ask questions or just to see what the current situation is. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s a bit dusty and the noise is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We are just a local mill doing the daily work.
