Thushara High School

Our school is located on N S S H S Road in Tirur. It is a familiar spot for families living around Malappuram. If you walk down this road, you will see our gate. It has been there for many years. We have kids coming in from all parts of the town. The mornings are usually the busiest time. You can hear the bell ringing from quite a distance away. We try to keep things organized, but with so many students, it can get a little noisy during the break times. The building itself is straightforward. We have classrooms lined up and a small playground area where the kids run around when they are not in lessons. It is not one of those high-tech schools you see in the city. We have wooden benches and blackboards. The teachers are local people from Tirur mostly. They know the families here well. Sometimes parents drop by just to talk about how their kids are doing. We sit in the small office area and have a chat. The rain can be quite heavy here in Malappuram, so we spend a lot of time making sure the roof doesn’t leak during the monsoon. It is just a regular school doing its job every day. We don’t have any flashy signs or anything like that. People just know us by name. It feels like a community hub more than anything else. We stay busy with the daily routine.
