Akshaya Traders

You can find Akshaya Traders right on the Main Road in Edarikode. It’s house number 3, so we're easy enough to spot if you’re driving through that stretch. We have been here for a good while, selling all sorts of things that people in town need for their daily lives. It’s a busy spot with cars and bikes zooming past all day long. The shop is usually a bit cluttered because we try to keep everything in stock, even the stuff people only ask for once a year. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is hidden behind the counter or in the back room. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use flashlights to find what a customer wants, but nobody seems to mind much because it happens to everyone. We've seen the road get wider and more shops open up nearby over the years. Edarikode is changing, but we’re still here in the same spot. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. Most people just know us because they’ve been coming here since they were kids. We open early and close when the sun goes down, or sometimes a bit later if someone is still browsing. It’s a basic life, but we like talking to the regulars and hearing the town gossip. There's always something happening on the Main Road, and we have a front-row seat to all of it. We just keep the shelves full and the shop open.
