Suraj Metal

Suraj Metal is located at Plot No. 10 in the Ranasan Gidc. It’s one of those places where you always have to watch where you’re walking because there’s usually some metal scrap or a pallet in the way. We deal with metal all day, so everything smells a bit like iron and rust. It’s heavy work, and our backs usually hurt by the end of the week, but we’re used to it. The area around Ranasan is pretty industrial, so there’s always a lot of noise from the neighbors and trucks coming in to pick up loads. We aren’t a huge company with a big HR department or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the metal gets processed and sent out to whoever bought it. We’ve had the same address for years, and most people around here know where we are. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait for it to come back on, which gives us time to drink some chai and talk. We don’t really do any fancy advertising. People just find us because we’ve been here so long. It’s a simple business, really. We buy metal, we do something to it, and we sell it again. It’s not always easy, especially when the market prices change, but we keep the gates open and keep working regardless of the weather.
