We are set up out on Vadnagar Road in Visnagar. Being near National Highway No:8A makes it a lot easier for the big trucks to get in and out, which is pretty much the most important thing for us. A. I. Ispat Pvt. Ltd. handles a lot of heavy material, so there is always a bit of grime and the smell of metal in the air. The yard can get quite chaotic when several deliveries arrive at once. We spend a lot of time checking numbers and making sure the inventory matches what we’re told. It’s not a glamorous setup, just some sheds and an office area that’s seen better days. The weather out here in Visnagar can get really hot, especially in the afternoons, which makes the work feel a bit slower. We have a crew that’s been doing this for a long time, so they know the routine by heart. There’s no point in pretending we’re a corporate high-rise. We’re just a bunch of people working near the highway. Most of the day is spent on the phone or out in the sun checking the stacks. If the trucks are on time, things go smoothly, but they rarely are. We just take it as it comes. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of tons of iron. That’s what our life looks like on Vadnagar Road. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening.
