You can find Mahila Arts College on the Visnagar Road in Vijapur. We are part of the Amrut Vidyadham area, which is a fairly quiet spot compared to the center of town. Since it’s an arts college for women, the atmosphere is usually quite calm, except for the lunch breaks when everyone is talking at once. The building is a simple structure with several rooms that we’ve tried to keep tidy over the years. There’s a small garden area out front, but it’s mostly just some hardy shrubs that don’t need much water. Inside, the walls have posters about various subjects and the floors are made of old stone that stays cool even in the Maharashtra heat. We have a small office where we keep all the student records in big metal cupboards. The 382870 area is where most of our staff lives, so we are all locals here. We don’t have a big cafeteria, just a small space where people eat their tiffins together. The walk from the main road isn't very long, but it can be dusty in the summer months. It’s a very straightforward place to work and study. We don’t have any fancy equipment or modern designs, just the basic stuff needed for the classes. People in the neighborhood are used to seeing the students coming and going every day at the same time. It feels like a very natural part of the local community.
