Mahakaushal Stone Industries

Mahakaushal Stone Industries is located out in Mudena Village, near the Belsondha Post. It is a dusty place, as you would expect with any business that handles stone. We are surrounded by fields and a few other industrial spots. The work here is physical and loud. We have machines that cut and grind, and there is always a layer of gray dust on our boots and clothes by the end of the shift. It is a local operation, and most of the guys working here come from the nearby villages. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a small room with a metal roof where we keep the records and take our breaks. When it rains, the sound on that roof is so loud you can’t hear yourself think. We deal with various types of stone, mostly for local building projects. The yard is usually full of slabs and pieces waiting to be moved. We use an old truck for the local deliveries, and sometimes it takes a bit of work to get it started on cold mornings. It’s hard work, but it’s honest. We don’t have much time for anything other than the tasks at hand. People come to us because they know we have the materials they need for their houses or walls. It's a basic life out here in the village, focused on the stone and the daily weather.
