Yogeswar Timber Depot

We’ve been here at New Vilangudi for quite some time now. Being right on the Madurai-Dindigul Main Road means things stay busy with trucks pulling in and out all day. If you stop by the yard, you'll mostly see piles of logs and cut wood stacked up everywhere. It’s a bit dusty, honestly, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with timber. Our guys spend most of the day measuring out planks and making sure the cuts are right for whatever the carpenters need. The sun gets pretty hot out here on NH-7, so we usually take a long break in the afternoon when it's quiet. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that, just a desk and some chairs where we sit with people to talk about their orders. Sometimes we have a lot of teak in stock, other times it’s mostly neem or whatever else we could get our hands on recently. People around here know where we are because of the big stacks of wood you can see from the road. It’s simple work, really. We load up the lorries, send them off to construction sites, and start again the next morning. My clothes usually have sawdust on them by ten in the morning, which my wife hates, but you get used to it. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the wood we sell is solid enough for the local builds.
