If you go to the V.K.S Complex near the Vandipettai East Entrance in Usilampatti, you’ll find us on the first floor. Target Flowers Traders & Exporters is where we spend our days dealing with all kinds of blooms. It smells a lot better here than most offices, that’s for sure. We work with local growers and also handle some export business. The flower trade moves very fast because nothing stays fresh for long. We are constantly checking the clocks and the temperature. It can be quite stressful when a shipment is delayed, but we’ve learned to handle the pressure over the years. We aren't a big, cold corporation. We’re just a bunch of people who know a lot about flowers and how to move them. You’ll often see us surrounded by buckets of water and stems everywhere. It’s a messy business in its own way. We don't use any slick sales pitches. We just show what we have and tell the truth about the quality and the timing. Usilampatti is a good place for this kind of work. We know the local rhythms and the people here. Every day is a bit different depending on what’s in season. We just try to keep the flowers moving and the customers satisfied without making a big fuss about it. It’s just what we do to get by.
