Our place is located right in the middle of the Jewellery Bazar on Kansamettu Street. It’s on the first floor of 12-A, in the first lane. If you’ve been to the bazar, you know how narrow and crowded the streets can get. We spend a lot of our time moving small boxes of tools and consumables up and down those stairs. Sri Ram Jewellery Machinery Tools & Consumables is basically a hub for the local jewellers who need supplies. We have shelves packed with all sorts of specialized equipment, from tiny drills to polishing wheels. It can get a bit cramped in here, especially when a few customers come in at once. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's more like a storage room where we happen to do business. We know most of the people who come in by their first names because they’ve been shopping with us for a long time. The lighting isn't the best, but we have enough lamps to see the small parts we sell. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively while we work. It’s a niche business, and we know our inventory inside and out. It’s a lot of counting small items and making sure the stock is replenished every week. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just know where to find us in the bazar when they need something specific for their craft.
