Senthil Murugan Ice Corner

If you walk down Dhanappamudhaliyar Street you will find us right there in the Umarani Complex. It is a busy part of Madurai City and there is never really a quiet moment outside the door. We set up this little shop to handle the heat that everyone deals with around here. Usually the afternoons are when most people start showing up because they are looking for a break from the sun. We keep the fridge humming all day long and the shelves stay stocked as much as possible. It is not a very big space but it serves its purpose for the locals. You see a lot of people from the nearby offices or students walking past on their way home. We have been at No.43/A for a while now and we know many of the faces that come through. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside especially when it is really hot out but nobody seems to mind much. We just focus on keeping things cold and ready. The street noise is always there in the background like a constant hum. We do not do anything complicated here just the basics that people need when they are out and about in the city. Most of the time we are just busy cleaning up or restocking the items as they go out. It feels like a small but necessary part of the daily life in Madurai.
