Kalaikko Exim

Kalaikko Exim is situated at No. 59- A New Jail Road. The name of the road always gets a reaction from people who haven't been here before. It’s a sturdy building, nothing fancy, just bricks and concrete. We’ve got our desks set up near the windows so we can see the traffic. Most of what we do involves a lot of talking to suppliers and trying to get the best timing for the shipments. It’s a lot of "wait and see" followed by "hurry up." Our office is usually a bit of a mess with paper samples and shipping schedules pinned to the walls. We don’t have a fancy cleaning crew, so we just tidy up ourselves on Friday afternoons. It feels more like a home than an office sometimes. We’ve had some of the same clients for years and they don't care about a polished image. They just care that the stuff gets there. We have a small tea kettle that’s always on. The neighborhood is okay, a bit loud during rush hour, but we’ve grown to like the noise. It reminds us that things are moving. We just take it one day at a time, handling the exports and making sure the ledgers are balanced. It’s just us doing what we know how to do.
