Native Spices

We are located at 38 Melur Main Road, right near the Reliance Market. You can usually smell the place before you see the door. We spend a lot of time sorting through bags of different seeds and dried barks. It gets dusty inside when we are working. The shelves are filled with containers and we try to keep things organized, but it’s a busy spot. Traffic on Melur Main Road is always loud, so there is a constant hum of engines outside. We get a mix of people coming in. Some stay and talk for a bit while others are in a big hurry to get home and cook. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is handled right. Sometimes we run out of things if the shipment is late, but that’s just how it is. We buy what we can from local sources when the quality looks okay. It’s a simple shop. Nothing polished about the counters or the floors. We sweep up every evening, but the scent of cumin and pepper stays in our clothes. It’s a long day, starting early and closing up after the sun goes down. Most people around here use us because we are easy to get to. We just focus on getting the spices ready for whoever needs them. It’s steady work and keeps us busy enough throughout the week. There is always a lot to do before we can lock up.
