O. M. S Tamarind Marchants (P) Ltd. is located at 185, East Masi Street. If you’ve ever walked down East Masi Street, you know how it smells—spices, dust, and all sorts of goods being moved around. It’s a very traditional commercial area. Our building is an old one. It’s seen a lot of years. We work out of a space that is filled with the scent of the products we deal with. It gets into your clothes after a while. We don't have air conditioning in every corner, so the summers can be a bit tough. We just keep the windows open and hope for a breeze. Most of us here at O. M. S Tamarind Marchants (P) Ltd. grew up around this kind of business. We know the local traders and the people who bring the goods in. It’s not a high-tech environment. We use old ledgers alongside a basic computer setup. There’s a lot of manual work involved. We check the quality of what comes in and make sure it’s packed right. Sometimes the street gets so blocked with carts that we can't even get out for lunch. We just share whatever we have in the office. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to expand into a global empire. We just want to do our work on East Masi Street and go home to our families. We like the rhythm of this place and the people we see every day.
