S. R. Exports Chennai

S. R. Exports Chennai is actually run by S. Ramakrishnan, the proprietor, and we are based at No. 42 on the 1st Floor of Lakshmipuram 4th Street. This is off East Veli Street in Madurai. Even though the name says Chennai, we are right here in the heart of Madurai. The office is on the first floor, so you have to walk up the narrow stairs to find us. It’s a lively neighborhood with plenty of shops and people moving about. Ramakrishnan has been in this business for a long time, and this office reflects that. It’s filled with ledgers and old files that tell the story of many years of work. We don't have air conditioning in every room, so we use fans to keep the air moving. It gets hot, especially in the afternoons. Our work involves a lot of back-and-forth communication. We aren't a big corporation with departments; we all do a bit of everything. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. We know the other business owners on East Veli Street and we often see them when we go out for coffee. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't use much marketing because our reputation in the area is what keeps us going. It’s a modest office, but it’s ours and we know how to run it well.
