Down on Muthiahdillai Street in Panthadi, you will find our shop, Kanna Watch Mobile Sales Service. We have been in this Madurai neighborhood for quite some time now. The shop is filled with various bits and pieces, from watch straps to mobile chargers. We sell a few things, but mostly we spend the day fixing stuff that people bring in. It is a lot of sitting and focusing on tiny circuits or watch gears. Sometimes the sun hits the front of the shop and it gets really bright inside. We have some stools for people to sit on if they are waiting for something quick like a battery change. It is a local place, so we end up chatting with the neighbors a lot about the weather or local news while we work. We do not use any high-tech machines, just the standard tools that have worked for years. It is a bit messy on the workbench sometimes, but we know where everything is. Every watch has a different story, some are old gifts and some are just cheap ones people use for work. We treat them all about the same. It is just a regular routine of opening up, doing the repairs, and closing up when the sun goes down. That is life here in Madurai for us. Just steady work and good people coming through the door every day.
