We are located in Patori village, which is part of the Satar Kataiya block in the Saharsa district. Our setup is a bit different because we focus on the water. Shree Ganesham Freshwater Aquaculture Llp is all about the ponds and the fish we raise right here in our own village. Dinesh Mukhiya is the one you’ll usually find managing the day-to-day work at the Tola Patori site. Saharsa has plenty of water, so it made sense for us to use what we have to build something for ourselves. It’s not an easy life, spending so much time by the water, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a big corporate office; we mostly work where the fish are. The local community in Panchpatori knows us well. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to raise healthy fish and provide for our families. The work is messy and wet most of the time, but there’s a certain peace in it. We deal with the local markets and sometimes people come right to the village to see what we have. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have fancy brochures or anything like that. If you want to know what we do, you just have to come down to Satar Kataiya and see the ponds for yourself. It’s honest work in the fresh air, and we are proud to be from this district.
