Spice Showroom

The Spice Showroom has been part of Janta Nagar for a while, located right in the Sai Pooja Baug Housing Society area. When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the heavy smell of ground turmeric and red chili powder that just hangs in the air. It gets into your clothes if you stay too long, but we don't mind it much. We spend a lot of our morning just moving sacks around and making sure the glass jars are topped up for the afternoon rush. The flooring is a bit worn out from all the people walking in and out every day, but it holds up. Most of our regulars are the ladies living in the society who just need a small bag of something for their dinner. We keep the counter clear, though it usually ends up covered in little spills of seeds or powder by the time we close. The lighting in the back is a bit dim, so we have to be careful when we are looking for specific bags in the storeroom. It is a small operation, really, just a few of us making sure everything stays fresh. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It is just a straightforward shop where people can get what they need for their kitchen without having to go all the way to the big market. We just keep things simple and try to stay on top of the cleaning.
