We are tucked away in the Beryl Howie Apartments at the CMC Hospital staff colony. It is House Number 04. Being near the hospital means it’s always a bit busy around here, but our office stays relatively quiet once you step inside. It’s a small space, mostly filled with computers and those big blue binders everyone in this profession seems to have. We handle a variety of accounting tasks for people living and working around Ludhiana. Some of us have been here for years, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. It’s not a flashy setup. We just have what we need to get the audits done and keep the records straight. Sometimes the printer acts up right when we need it most, which is always frustrating, but we get by. We aren't some massive company with hundreds of employees; we're just a dedicated group trying to make sure nobody gets in trouble with their taxes. Most of our day is spent typing away or talking to people about their financial situation. It’s simple work in a way, but it requires a lot of focus.
