We don't have any glass partitions or fancy lighting; it’s just a solid, practical space where we conduct our trading. The walls have some cracks and the ceiling fans are quite old, but they still work fine for keeping the air moving on hot days. We spend our time talking to people who come in from all over the region to find what they need. Most of our day is spent negotiating and checking through the stock we have in the back. It’s a very hands-on type of business. We don't use much technology besides a basic phone and a calculator. The atmosphere in Chaura Bazar is always loud and full of energy, which we have grown to love over the years. We know most of the other people who have shops on this road, and there is a good sense of community among us. We just try to provide what people are looking for without making things complicated or expensive. It’s just how we have always done it.
