Lalit Boutique

Lalit Boutique is located right in Noorwala. It’s a local place where we do a bit of everything related to clothes and tailoring. The space we have is quite modest, just a room really where we keep the machines and the fabrics we are working on. Noorwala is a place where everyone kind of knows each other, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming through the door every week. It’s not a fancy boutique like the ones you see in the big city malls with glass windows. We have our sewing machines and a wooden cutting table, and that’s where we spend most of our hours. Sometimes the floor is covered in thread and scraps of colorful cloth, and we have to do a big sweep at the end of the day to keep it tidy. We don't have a website or any online ads. People just walk in when they need something fixed or a new outfit made for a special occasion. It’s a very practical way of doing things. We talk about the weather or local news while we work. The lighting isn't always the best, but we've got a few good lamps over the main work areas. It’s just a small local business trying to do the work for the people around here. We don't have a big staff, just us and the work that needs to be finished. It’s a quiet life mostly, except for the rhythmic sound of the machines running. We take it one day at a time.
