NEW LIGHT MACHINERY WORKS (REGD)

Our main office is at 2495, St. No. 15, in Dashmesh Nagar, right off Gill Road in Ludhiana. If you’ve ever been to Gill Road, you know it’s the place for machinery. Our workshop is usually full of the smell of oil and the sound of metal being worked on. We’ve been here in Dashmesh Nagar for a long time, and the neighborhood hasn't changed much. It’s always crowded with rickshaws and trucks carrying heavy loads. Inside the shop, things are usually a bit chaotic with parts lying around and machines being tested. We wear old clothes because you’re bound to get some grease on you by the end of the shift. Most of our workers have been doing this for years; they can tell if a machine is running right just by the sound it makes. We have a small office area tucked in the front where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It’s dusty and loud, but it’s where we feel at home. We don’t really have any fancy brochures or a shiny showroom. What you see is what you get—just a lot of hard work and iron. Lunch is often eaten sitting on whatever is available while we talk about the latest orders. It’s a tough environment, but that’s just how machinery works go in Ludhiana. We keep the lights on and the hammers moving until the day is done. The street outside is always noisy, but we just focus on the metal in front of us.
