Over here at Narain Computers, we’ve got our shop at B15/40 right by Vishvkarma Chowk. Being in Miller Ganj, it’s always crowded and there’s always someone coming in with a broken screen or a laptop that won't turn on. We spend a lot of time looking at tiny screws and wires. Sometimes it feels like we’re more like mechanics than tech people because of all the dust we have to blow out of old towers. It’s a small space, mostly filled with boxes of spare parts and keyboards stacked up in the corner. We keep the shop open pretty late because people usually realize their computer is broken right when they need it for something important. My cousin helps out sometimes when things get really busy. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a counter and some shelves. We mostly just talk to people about what’s wrong with their machines and tell them how long it’ll take. G.T. Road is right there, so you hear the horns honking all day long while we work. It’s a bit chaotic but we like the energy of the market. Most of our regulars are just people from the neighborhood who don’t want to go to the big malls for a simple fix. We just do the work, give them their stuff back, and move on to the next one. It’s a lot of staring at screens, but we get by.
