Hotel Maharaja

Our hotel is right by the Clock Tower in the Bahadur House Market area of Ludhiana. If you've ever been to this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets. There are shops everywhere selling clothes and all sorts of things, and the streets are always packed with people and carts. It is loud from morning until late at night. The Clock Tower is the big landmark here, and we are just a short walk from it. Being in 141008 means we are right in the thick of the trade. Our building is old, and you can see that in the walls and the stairs. We don't have fancy elevators or shiny glass walls. It’s just a practical place for people who are coming to the market for work or shopping. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the dust from the street and making sure the water tanks are full. The market outside is where we get our news and our lunch. We know the shopkeepers nearby and they know us. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living in Ludhiana. We don't pretend to be something we’re not. We’re just a hotel in a busy market where people can rest their feet after a long day of walking around the stalls in Bahadur House.
