Dashmesh Cement Store

We are located at 809-I in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, which is a busy residential area where people are always fixing something on their houses. Running Dashmesh Cement Store means my clothes are basically permanently grey from all the cement dust. It’s a small shop, but we pack it full of bags every time the shipment arrives. The floor is made of hard concrete and it’s seen a lot of heavy lifting over the years. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the heavy sacks without throwing our backs out. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about the truck blocking the street for ten minutes, but usually, everyone is friendly enough. We keep a ledger on the counter to track the orders, and sometimes we lose the pen under a pile of receipts. It’s a simple life, really. We open up early, sweep the front, and wait for the first contractor to show up with his list. The sun hits the front of the store in the afternoon and makes it really hot, so we usually sit in the back where it’s cooler. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a cement store. We know our regulars by their first names and we know what they need before they even ask. It is just a steady job in a nice neighborhood. Most of the time we just listen to the radio.
