We've been here at 1-Janta Nagar for a long time now. The Main Road gets really busy during the afternoons, and the noise from the traffic just becomes part of the day. Our shop isn't anything fancy to look at from the outside. It is just a regular place where we get our work done. Most people in Ludhiana know this area gets crowded. We usually open up early in the morning when the air is a bit cooler before the sun really hits the pavement. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the street, so we spend a good amount of time just cleaning off the counters and making sure things are where they should be. It’s a simple setup with old shelves and some chairs that have seen better days. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know how things run. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. Dealing with people all day keeps us busy. You see all sorts of folks coming through Janta Nagar. Some are in a hurry and others want to talk for an hour. We just take it as it comes. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning in every corner. It’s just Chanan Singh, a local spot where we try to do right by the people who walk through that door. We’ve seen the road change over the years.
