Balwant Rai Amlok Kumar

Our place, Balwant Rai Amlok Kumar, is located at Vivekananda Nagar 658, right along the Lakkar Bazar Begur Road. It’s a long-standing establishment in this neighborhood. We’ve seen the road outside get paved and repaved more times than I can count. The shop itself is full of all sorts of hardware and general goods. We have items hanging from the ceiling and piled up in the corners. It can be a bit hard to navigate if you aren't used to it, but we know exactly where every single bolt and bag is kept. The air usually smells a bit like metal and dust, which is just part of being in Lakkar Bazar. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or bright paint. The walls are a bit faded, but they hold up the roof just fine. People from all over Vivekananda Nagar come to us when they need something specific for their homes. We don't do much talking unless it’s about the items we have in stock. It’s a practical environment. My old man still comes in to sit in the corner and watch the world go by. We use an old metal scale that’s probably older than I am, but it still works perfectly well. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day. It’s a simple life here on Begur Road and we like it that way.
