Apparel Engineers

Apparel Engineers is situated at GS-285/3, which is right opposite the Singh Sabha Gurdwara on Sekhowal Road. It is a location that is easy to find because the Gurdwara is a major landmark for everyone in the area. You can often hear the morning prayers and the sounds of the community gathering across the street, which gives the neighborhood a specific kind of feel. Our building is a plain structure on a road that can get quite dusty when the trucks go by. Inside, we have our machines set up in rows. It is not a climate-controlled, fancy facility. It is a workspace where the hum of machinery is the main sound you hear all day. We have some large tables for laying out fabrics and a few small desks for the paperwork side of things. The lighting is bright and functional. Sekhowal Road is an area where a lot of textile work happens, so we are surrounded by people doing similar things. We take our breaks near the front door to get some fresh air. The office part of the building is just a small corner with a couple of chairs and a filing cabinet that sticks a little when you try to open the bottom drawer. It is a practical, working-class setup. We stay busy with the orders that come in and try to keep the place as tidy as we can despite all the scrap material.
