You can find us over at No. 60 in the Dashmesh Market in Sherpur Kalan. It is an old market, and our shop is tucked in there with a lot of other businesses. We do a lot of work with metal and machine parts for the local textile trade. Most days the floor is covered in small metal shavings and there is always a bit of oil on the tables from the machines. It is a noisy place because there is usually a machine running or someone is hammering something back into shape. We do not have a fancy front office or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there at a workbench or fixing a gear. The air smells like grease and old metal, which is just how an engineering shop should be, I guess. We have a lot of old tools that have been around as long as the company has. Sometimes we have to hunt around for a specific wrench or a part that has gone missing under a pile of scrap metal. My hands are usually stained dark from the daily work, and it is hard to get them clean even with the rough soap we use. The market gets very crowded during the day, so getting things delivered can be a bit of a headache with all the carts and people moving around. We just keep our heads down and get the repairs done as they come in.
