Abhiram Anand

I’m Abhiram Anand, and I operate out of house number 285 here in Ludhiana. It’s a pretty standard street, and most people around here know each other by face if not by name. I don’t have a big storefront with neon lights or anything like that. My work is mostly done from a small office space I’ve set up, where I can keep my books and documents in order. In a city like Ludhiana, things are always moving, especially with all the industry and trade going on. I try to keep my own business dealings as simple as possible. I don't see any reason to make things harder than they have to be with a bunch of corporate jargon. Usually, I’m just busy answering calls, meeting a few people, and making sure my tasks for the day are checked off. It can be a bit solitary sometimes, but I like being my own boss and keeping things on a smaller scale. The room gets a little warm in the summer, but a simple fan usually does the trick. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so this house and this work are just part of my life now. I don't have a big mission statement or a fancy plan for the future. I just want to keep doing a good job for the people who rely on me and make sure everything stays running smoothly at 285. It’s a quiet, honest way to make a living and stay independent.
