The Style Maker

The Style Maker is located over in Aliganj, specifically on Sector D Road near Purania Chauraha. That intersection is always loud with horns and people rushing to get somewhere. Our shop is just a bit away from the main mess. We’ve been at this spot for some years. It’s a decent sized room with enough space for people to sit and wait if we are busy. We have a few big mirrors and those old-fashioned chairs that are actually quite comfortable once you sit in them. Lucknow gets really hot in the summer months, so we keep the AC running as much as we can, though sometimes the voltage is too low. We handle all kinds of hair work and basic grooming. It isn't a place where we use fancy words or charge crazy prices. Most of the people who come in are students from the nearby hostels or families living in Sector D. We see a lot of regulars who just want a quick trim or to get their beard sorted out. I usually spend my mornings checking the supplies and making sure we have enough clean towels for the day. It’s just a regular shop where we do our work and go home. Nothing too complicated about it. We like being near the chauraha because there is always something happening outside the door. You can see the tea stalls and the fruit sellers from our window. It makes the day go by faster when things are busy. It’s just an honest way to make a living in this part of Lucknow.
