Sushil General Store

We have been here at this spot in Aishbagh for quite some time now. People come in for small things, maybe a pack of biscuits or some washing powder. We don’t have fancy lighting or anything like that. It’s just a basic shop where you get what you need for the house. My brother helps out in the afternoons when it gets busy. Sometimes the delivery guys are late and we have to wait around. The floor needs sweeping twice a day because of the dust from the road. We know most people by their faces. It’s not a big supermarket, just a local place. Sometimes I sit on the stool outside when there are no customers. You see the same rickshaws going back and forth every day. We keep the daily staples like rice, lentils, and sugar. It’s steady work. Nothing too exciting happens, but it keeps us going. The ceiling fan makes a bit of noise in the summer. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the crates pile up in the corner. That is just how it is here. Most folks around Malviya Nagar know where to find us. We don't do deliveries or anything fancy, people just walk in. It's a simple life running a store in Lucknow. We keep the lights on until late evening and then head home.
