Sree Bala Ji General Store

Sree Bala Ji General Store has been a part of the Bangla Bazar area for quite some time now. We sit on Jail Road, which is always busy with people going toward Ashiyana Road or the main market. If you find the Allahabad Bank, we are right across from it, so it's easy to spot. It's a handy spot for people finishing their bank work to stop by and grab a few things for their home. We keep all the usual stuff you’d expect in a general store. Some days are slow, and I just sit and watch the traffic go by, but usually, there’s someone coming in for sugar, pulses, or snacks. Lucknow weather is either very hot or a bit chilly in the winter, so we adjust the doors accordingly. The shop isn't huge, so we have to use every bit of wall space for hanging packets and stacking cardboard boxes. I try to keep things honest and simple for everyone. My family has been in trade for a while, so starting this felt like the natural thing to do. We don't use any big computers for our billing, just a simple notebook and some mental math to keep things moving. People around Ashiana Colony are mostly friendly and we know them well. We hear a lot of local news and gossip just by talking to the regular customers. Sometimes the cows on Jail Road cause a bit of a traffic jam, which is just part of the local flavor. We aren't doing anything special, just providing what the neighborhood needs.
