Soni Genral Store

I usually open up Soni Genral Store around eight in the morning, right after I finish my tea at Soni House. We are located on Sitapur Road in the Gayatri Nagar area of Lucknow. It stays pretty busy out there because of all the traffic coming through. Being near Bal Niketan School means I see a lot of kids and parents every single day. They usually stop by for small things like pencils or snacks before the bell rings. The shop is part of the house, so someone is almost always around if a neighbor needs something quickly. I spend a lot of my time just organizing the shelves or checking what we need to get from the market next. Sometimes the dust from Sitapur Road gets everywhere, so cleaning is a never-ending job here. It is just a regular place where people from Gayatri Nagar come to pick up their daily stuff. We have been here for a while now and most of the faces I see are people I know by name. It is not a very big shop, but we try to keep the basic items everyone asks for. If the weather is nice, I sit on a stool outside for a bit. Life moves at its own pace in this part of Lucknow, and we just keep the store running as best as we can every day without much fuss.
