Smarty Men

Smarty Men is located at Shop No 35 on Hamid Road in the Wazirganj area of Lucknow. We are quite close to the City Station, so there are always people rushing around outside with bags and luggage. Our shop is just a small unit in a row of other shops. It is easy to miss if you aren't looking for the number on the door. Inside, it is a typical local barber shop. We have enough space for a couple of people to get their hair cut at once. The floor is often covered in bits of hair because we are always busy with customers coming from the station or the nearby offices. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. There are just some simple shelves for our tools and a few bottles of hair oil and spray. The noise from the street is constant—horns honking and people shouting—but once you are inside, it feels a bit more relaxed than the road. We have a small wooden bench for waiting, and usually there is an old newspaper lying around for people to read. We focus on simple haircuts and shaves. No one comes here expecting a spa treatment or something like that. They come because they want a quick trim from someone they know. We have been on Hamid Road for a while and we have built a good group of regulars. It is just a small, practical business.
