If you walk down JC Bose Marg in Lalbagh, you will find us at number 8. Shush Store Private Limited is right in the heart of things here. Lalbagh is such a classic part of the city, and being on JC Bose Marg means we are always surrounded by the sounds of the street. Our store is not the biggest one on the block, but we make use of the space we have. We spend most of our time organizing the shelves and helping people who wander in. It can get pretty cramped when we get a new shipment in, and we usually end up moving boxes around for hours. It is just how it goes when you are a local business. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations. We prefer to keep things simple and functional. The staff here are mostly local people who know the area well. We like the fact that we can walk to get tea nearby and talk to the other shop owners. It feels like a community. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult or the street gets blocked for some event, but we stay open as much as we can. We are not looking to change the world or anything. We just want to have a good selection of products for the people who live and work around Lalbagh. It is a lot of folding, counting, and checking labels, but it keeps us busy and we like the routine.
