Shukla General Store

If you're walking down Mavaiya Road, you'll find Shukla General Store right there. We are in the Mavaiya area of Lucknow, zip code 226004. It’s a pretty busy road most of the time. We’ve been here long enough that most of the local families stop by for their daily bits and pieces. It’s just a normal general store, nothing fancy to look at. We keep the usual things like pulses, sugar, and maybe some cold drinks when it's hot out. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the shelves. Sometimes it’s hard to find where I put the smaller items, but I usually remember after a second or two of looking. Mavaiya is a lively part of Lucknow to be in. You hear the autos and bikes going past all day long. I usually start the day by cleaning the front step because it gets dusty with all the traffic on the road. Some people just stop by to ask for directions or wait for someone. We don't mind that. It’s a community thing. Running Shukla General Store keeps me busy enough. You get used to the rhythm of the street and the people who live around here. We just try to have what you need when you walk in.
