I've been working out of this spot at R/23 Sanjaygandhipuram for a while now. It’s actually part of Shri J.D. Ram’s place, so it feels more like a home than a proper corporate office. Lucknow gets pretty hot in the summers, so most of my day is spent under the ceiling fan, just getting through the pile of work on my desk. There isn’t much to say about the setup here. It’s just me, Shobha Kumari, handling things as they come in. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which helps when I need to concentrate, though you do hear the occasional vegetable seller passing by outside or the neighbors talking near the gate. I don't have a big team or any fancy equipment. It’s just a basic room with enough space for my files and a wooden chair that’s seen better days. People sometimes find it hard to locate the house because the numbering in this part of Lucknow can be a bit confusing if you aren't from around here. I usually tell them to look for the landmark near the main road before they turn in. Most of my time goes into making sure the paperwork is sorted and the clients get what they asked for without too much fuss. It isn't glamorous, but it keeps me busy and the bills paid. I like the routine of coming in every morning, making a cup of tea, and starting on whatever is most urgent for that day. It’s just a small local operation trying to keep things moving along steadily.
