Sharik General Store

Sharik General Store is located at 108/157 in Hussainganj, right here in Lucknow. We are quite close to New Model School, so we get a lot of parents and kids stopping by throughout the day. The shop has been in the family for a while. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because I try to stock as many different things as possible. From soaps to notebooks, we have a bit of everything scattered around. The 226001 area is a busy part of town, and Hussainganj always has something going on. I usually start my morning by sweeping the front step and getting the newspapers ready. The school bell is like my clock; I know exactly what time it is based on when the kids start appearing. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when thirty kids want sweets at the same time, but I manage. The shelves are mostly wooden and a bit worn down at the edges. I don't see the point in changing them as long as they hold the weight. Most people who live around here know where we are. It’s a simple place to shop without any fuss. I’m usually here until late evening, just waiting for the last few people to get their milk for the morning. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop where we try to keep the basics in stock for everyone. I often chat with the neighbors who linger around for a bit after buying their stuff.
