Our business is situated in Sarojini Nagar. If you’ve been to the market here, you know how hectic it can be. We are right in the thick of it, dealing with all kinds of trade goods. Our space is more of a warehouse than a shop, filled with crates and boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our day counting stock and writing out invoices by hand. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around to find what a customer needs. The floors are concrete and a bit cracked, and the lighting is just some basic tubes that flicker sometimes. We don't have any fancy displays. People come to us because they know we have what they need in stock. The sounds of the Sarojini Nagar market are always there—people shouting, carts rolling by, and the general buzz of the crowd. We usually have tea delivered from the stall around the corner a few times a day to keep us going. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we don’t really bother with a lot of modern office stuff. We have a heavy metal shutter that we pull down at the end of the day, and that’s when we finally get some peace to finish the paperwork. It’s honest work, and we like being part of such a famous area. We know most of the other traders around here, and we all look out for each other. It’s a busy life but it keeps us on our toes.
