Saran General Store

This shop is located right on Chaupatiya Road in the Sarai Mali Khan area. Being so close to Happy Hours School means we see a lot of kids and parents every single day. We sell a lot of pens, notebooks, and small snacks because of the students. But we also have all the regular kitchen stuff for the families living around here in Lucknow. It is a bit of a tight space inside the store, but we manage to fit everything in. My father started this business, and now I am the one mostly sitting here at the counter. The area is quite old and has a lot of history to it. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time getting through the narrow parts of the road. We get our new stock twice a week usually. If you need milk or bread in the morning, we are usually open before the school bell rings. It gets quite loud during the afternoon when school lets out and the kids come in for candy. I try to keep everything organized, but sometimes the boxes just pile up in the corner. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in when they need something. It is a basic store for basic needs. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It is just our way to make a living and help the neighbors get their daily items.
