Santoshi Fashion

My family and I have been running Santoshi Fashion for a while now. We are located right at Puran Nagar Chauraha, which stays pretty busy most of the day. If you know where the Sarrafa Police Chowki is, we are just near there, so it is quite easy to spot us once you get to the intersection. Kanpur gets really dusty and hot in the summer months, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the shop clean and making sure the fans are working for anyone who walks in. We sell all kinds of clothes, mostly stuff that people around here need for daily life or small family functions. It’s not a fancy place with big bright lights, just a regular shop with racks and shelves full of items we’ve picked out ourselves. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk with the neighbors, and other days it gets crowded and we are rushing to show people different sizes. We don’t have a big staff, just us and sometimes a cousin helps out when things get hectic. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles of fabric get a bit messy when it’s a busy afternoon. People in the neighborhood know us by name, and we know most of them too. It’s just how things work in this part of town near the police chowki. We hope to stay here for many more years because this spot at the chauraha feels like home to us now.
