S. S. Combines

You can find S. S. Combines at 14 A/5 on Park Road. It’s a quiet enough area most mornings. We deal with machinery and parts. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of oil or grease. We don't mind it. It shows we're working. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the ledgers. Sometimes the phone rings and nobody is near it because we're out back. We’ve been at this address for a good number of years. The neighbors are mostly other businesses like ours. We don't have any flashy displays. Usually, there’s a piece of equipment being looked at in the middle of the room. It gets loud when the engines start up. We drink a lot of water when it’s hot. The roof leaks a tiny bit in the corner when it pours, but we moved the files away from there. People come to us because they know where we are. We don't do much advertising. Park Road has changed a lot since we started. There’s more traffic now. We just try to get the jobs done as they come in. Some days are slow, others we can't catch a break. We just take it as it comes. It's a straightforward way to make a living. Nothing more to it than that. We just stay focused on the work in front of us.
