Ram Singh General Store

If you go down Gokhale Marg in Lucknow, you will find our shop in the Sikandar Nagar area. We are Ram Singh General Store and we have been here for many years. We are right near the Laxman Mella Ground and the Niraman Nibhag Office in Hastaganjh. Because of all the offices and government buildings nearby, we get a lot of people coming in during their lunch breaks. They usually want some snacks, a cold drink, or maybe some stationary. We have everything from pens and registers to soaps and matches. The shop is located at a busy corner and it can get quite loud with all the cars and bikes going past. Lucknow heat is no joke, so we have a small cooler that we run in the afternoons. It does not do much, but it is better than nothing. My son helps me out in the evenings when it gets really crowded. We also see a lot of people who come for the Laxman Mella when that is happening nearby. It is a good location even if the building is a bit old now. We have not changed much over the years, the shelves are still the same ones my father put in. We just keep things simple and try to be helpful to anyone who walks in. It is a local business and we are proud to be part of this neighborhood.
