Rahul General Store

Rahul General Store is located in Chillawan, Lucknow, right near the Air Port area. The pincode is 226006. Because we are so close to the airport, we sometimes see people who are just traveling through, but mostly it is the local families from Chillawan who come to us. The shop is a basic brick building with a metal shutter that we pull up every morning. We keep a lot of daily stuff like soap, oil, pulses, and snacks for the kids. The shelves are made of wood and they are getting a bit old now, but they still hold all the jars and packets just fine. It can get quite loud with the planes overhead and the noise from the road, but we don't mind it much anymore. We have a small counter where we sit and wait for customers. Sometimes it's very quiet in the middle of the day and I just read the newspaper or talk to the guy from the shop next door. We don't have any big goals of becoming a supermarket or anything fancy. We are just happy to keep the store running and serve the people who live nearby. If we run out of something, we try to get it in the next day. It’s a very straightforward business with no hidden extras. We've been at this Chillawan location for years and we know most of the people who walk through the door.
