Poonam Embroidery

Poonam Embroidery is located right near the Chota Imambara, specifically by the 1 Gate. It is a very lively part of the city with people constantly passing by to see the sights. Our shop is quite small and it is always filled with the smell of thread and fabric. We have several frames set up where we do our work by hand. It takes a lot of patience and the light in here isn’t always the best, so we use some extra bulbs to see the fine details. We have been here for a long time and the locals know us by name. Our hands are usually busy from morning until evening. We don’t have a big marketing department or any fancy signs outside. Just the work we do every day. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of orders to finish, but we manage to find space. We sit together on the floor or on small stools and talk while we stitch. It makes the long hours go by much faster. The sound of the traffic outside the gate is always there in the background. We don't try to be anything we are not. We are just a group of people who are good with needles and thread. Most of our customers come to us because they saw someone else wearing our work. We just keep our heads down and focus on the task at hand.
