Parmanand Store

Parmanand Store is at Shop No 92/210 on G.B Marg in the Charbagh area of Lucknow. We are very close to Mohan Hotel, which most people in the city know. Charbagh is always crowded because of the railway station nearby, so there is a constant flow of people passing by our door. The shop has been in this old building for quite some time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with customers to get to it. We sell all kinds of daily necessities. Since we are on a main road, we get a mix of local residents and travelers who just need a bottle of water or some biscuits for their train journey. The space is a bit narrow, so customers usually stand outside the counter on the pavement while we find their items. I spend my day reaching for things on the high shelves using a long wooden stick. It’s a bit of a workout every single day. My father started this place years ago, and I just kept it going the same way. We don't have a mission statement or any of that stuff. We just focus on keeping the stock full and making sure we don't run out of the basics like soap or tea. The traffic noise is constant, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just a regular Lucknow shop doing regular business.
